Rental terms

These rental terms apply to all agreements between Fean & Farre and the renter for the rental of e-bikes and boats.

• Renter: the natural or legal person who places a reservation and takes receipt of the rented item.
• Rented item: the e-bike(s) or boat made available by Fean & Farre.

Deviations from these terms are only valid if confirmed in writing by Fean & Farre.

A reservation is confirmed once the renter has placed an online booking (e-bikes) or made an agreement in writing/by phone (boats) and Fean & Farre has confirmed it.

• The rental price and any deposit are shown in the summary when you book.
• After your reservation you will receive a confirmation by email. Your reservation is final once you have received the confirmation email from Fean & Farre.
• Fean & Farre reserves the right to refuse a reservation due to insufficient availability or incorrect details.
• All amounts are in euros. Unless stated otherwise, prices include VAT.

Pick-up and return take place at the following address:

Gealânswei 1, 9216 XX Oudega Gem Smallingerland

• Pick-up time: from 09:00 on the first rental day.
• Return time: by 21:00 at the latest on the last rental day.
• Late returns may incur an additional day charge.
• The renter must show valid ID when picking up.
• The rented item is inspected together with Fean & Farre on handover and return. Any existing damage is recorded.

• Bij schade, diefstal, verlies, te late inlevering of andere kosten kunnen bedragen wel volgens deze voorwaarden in rekening worden gebracht.
• In case of theft or loss van de e-bike, accu of accessoires en bij schade is de huurder aansprakelijk voor de herstel- of vervangingskosten.
• Boat rental may have different deposit and payment arrangements; these are confirmed in writing in advance.

The following provisions apply specifically to e-bike rental:

• The rental price is €25 per e-bike per day, unless stated otherwise on the booking page.
• A maximum of 6 e-bikes are available. Availability depends on the period you choose.
• The renter uses the e-bike carefully and in accordance with traffic rules. Subletting to third parties is not permitted.
• In case of breakdown or damage, contact Fean & Farre immediately. The rented item may not be repaired without permission.
• The battery must be handled with care. Only charge the e-bike with the supplied charger.
• Optional accessories (such as a pannier bag or child seat) are available on request and may only be used after written or verbal confirmation by Fean & Farre.

Voor diefstal, verlies en beveiliging gelden de aanvullende bepalingen in artikel 6 van deze rental terms.

During the rental period, the renter has a duty of care to secure the rented item — including the e-bike, battery, charger and other accessories — against theft and loss.

Let op: e-bike-accu's zijn waardevol en worden regelmatig gestolen. Ga thereom extra voorzichtig om met je fiets en accu.

E-bike and battery security duty

• Only park the e-bike in a safe, visible place and always lock it with the supplied lock to a fixed object.
• Never leave the e-bike unattended and unlocked.
• Battery: remove the battery when parking the bike and take it with you, unless Fean & Farre explicitly stated otherwise on handover. Never leave a battery unattended on or attached to the bike.
• Store the battery in a dry, safe place and avoid leaving it visible in an unattended space (such as an open car or tent).
• Only use the supplied lock and security devices explained on handover.

In case of theft or loss

• An official police report is required in case of theft or loss of the e-bike, battery or accessories.
• The renter remains liable for replacement or repair costs, insofar as these are not covered by insurance.
• If the renter has taken insufficient precautions (for example no use of the lock, battery left unattended or not secured as instructed), Fean & Farre may recover the full replacement value from the renter, without prejudice to the right to withhold the deposit.

Boat and equipment

• For boat rental too, the renter is responsible for theft or loss of the rented item and supplied equipment, unless otherwise agreed.
• Do not leave the boat unattended without taking the agreed security measures.

The following provisions apply specifically to boat rental:

• Boat rental is by appointment. Rates, deposit and availability are confirmed per booking.
• The renter must comply with all legal requirements, including holding a valid boating licence if required for the rented vessel.
• Additional rules apply for navigation in nature reserves (such as National Park De Alde Feanen). Whisper boats must be used in accordance with applicable regulations.
• The renter navigates responsibly, is considerate of other water users and follows instructions from Fean & Farre and local regulations.
• In unsafe weather conditions, Fean & Farre may decide not to release the boat or to reschedule the rental in consultation with the renter.
• Safety equipment supplied with the boat must be worn correctly during navigation and returned complete on handover.

Want to cancel or change your reservation? Contact Fean & Farre as soon as possible.

• Cancellations and changes are processed subject to availability.
• Whether and under what conditions a refund is given depends on when you cancel and any costs incurred. Fean & Farre will inform you when you submit your request.
• If Fean & Farre cannot honour a confirmed reservation, an alternative will be offered in consultation or the amount paid will be refunded.

The renter is liable for damage to the rented item and to third parties arising during the rental period through use of the rented item, insofar as this is not due to attributable fault on the part of Fean & Farre.

The renter is in any case liable for theft and loss of the rented item, including e-bike batteries, for as long as the rented item is within their sphere of risk. This also applies when insufficient security measures have been taken as described in article 6.

Fean & Farre is not liable for indirect damage such as lost income or travel costs, unless mandatory law provides otherwise.

The renter indemnifies Fean & Farre against third-party claims related to use of the rented item during the rental period.

Dutch law applies to all agreements with Fean & Farre.

Disputes are preferably resolved by mutual agreement. If that fails, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district of Fean & Farre's registered office.
